Hey all you steeley eyed square dancers. As President of the Monarch Mavericks, I want to welcome you all to our website! You will find all the information you’ll
need to take lessons, and if you are already dancing, join us twice a month.
Monarch Mavericks is an SSD / Mainstream / Plus / Rounds square dance club that dances every 2nd and 4th Saturday afternoons of the month at the American Legion Hut, 10th & H, in Salida, Colorado.  Square dancing is from 1:30-4:00 with rounds between tips.  Pre-rounds for round dancers is 12:45-1:15.  Professional callers from Colorado and surrounding states deliver a fun, high-spirited dance.  The Mavericks are welcoming bunch; all-inclusive, singles and couples of all genders are welcome, and novice dancers are especially encouraged. The Mavericks do not adhere to a dress code, and dancers wear everything from traditional to long skirts to nice casual.  Just come dance!  Jeans are fine!

Classes for Square Dance beginners and refreshers are announced once or twice a year.  Occasional Plus level classes are offered as well.
